Minimally invasive (wisdom) tooth removal

smaller engagement, lower risks

The first premise of modern dentistry should be to preserve your teeth. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to avoid having to remove broken or inflamed teeth. These include severely decayed teeth or wisdom teeth. These often lie displaced under the gums, surrounded by bone, and press on the neighbouring teeth or inflame the surrounding tissue. It then becomes necessary to surgically remove these “troublemakers”. According to today’s scientific and technical standards, it is possible to remove teeth in a minimally invasive way, i.e. in a way that is absolutely gentle on the bone and tissue. Under certain circumstances, a three-dimensional X-ray may be necessary in order to optimally protect the structures involved. For you as a patient, this means virtually pain-free treatment: carried out using special anaesthetic techniques, in short treatment times, using perfectly coordinated techniques and – due to the gentle approach – with little discomfort after the procedure (swelling).

After tooth removal, a check-up is required after one week to assess the wound and remove any stitches, which is completely painless for the patient thanks to the special ultra-thin stitches.

The preservation of bone is particularly important for teeth that are later to be replaced by implants. Our two experienced implantologists, Dr Viktorov and Mr Planert, therefore always use a minimally invasive approach when removing teeth, as this makes the subsequent insertion of implants much easier and only little or no new bone needs to be restored by means of a build-up.
